Claire is a double major graduate from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, with majors in psychology and linguistics. Passionate about working with children and developing young minds, Claire has accumulated numerous career stints in the educational sector, such as at the Ministry of Education and the National Institute of Education. Through her experiences in classrooms and research assistantships at university, they have shaped her understanding of children’s psychology and learning needs which she intends to apply during sessions with her clients.
At Total Communication, Claire is trained in Conscious Discipline, a trauma-responsive social and emotional learning (SEL) programme, along with specific strategies to assist with children’s language and cognitive development. They include Lindamood Bell's Seeing Stars programme, the Feuerstein approach and Pretend Play.
Claire is also a huge advocate for mental health and well-being in both corporate and community spaces. A trained facilitator by accredited psychologists, she has worked closely with companies and community organisations to develop mental well-being programmes. In her spare time, Claire goes to the gym, learns Japanese and plays with her guinea pigs at home.
