Bethany Yu

Bethany has worked with clients from diverse backgrounds across Hong Kong, Thailand, Canada, and Singapore, shaping her ability to adapt to different learning needs. Originally from Hong Kong, she moved to Toronto for secondary school before eventually settling in Singapore. Her multicultural experiences have given her a unique perspective on education, allowing her to connect with students and create meaningful, personalized learning experiences.

As an Educational Therapist, Bethany believes in the power of personalized learning. She carefully tailors her sessions to align with her students' individual strengths and challenges, ensuring that every child receives the targeted support they need. She also understands the vital role that motivation plays in learning and strives to create a positive and engaging environment where children feel encouraged, empowered, and excited to learn.

At Total Communication Therapy, Bethany is trained in Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment (FIE), Lindamood-Bell’s Seeing Stars and Visualizing and Verbalizing programs. She incorporates these evidence-based approaches to strengthen students’ cognitive processing, language comprehension, and literacy skills. She is also continuously expanding her knowledge in areas such as play-based learning, executive functioning strategies, and multi-sensory teaching methods to better support a wide range of learners. By working closely with families, she ensures a collaborative approach that empowers students to become more independent and confident in their abilities.

Outside of work, Bethany enjoys playing the violin. She also loves reading sci-fi, mystery, and fiction novels, as well as watching movies. In her free time, she enjoys editing music videos, combining her passion for storytelling and music.
